The French Under-21 star is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of opportunities to play first-team football.

He has had loan spells at Celtic, West Ham and Wolves but none of the three opted to make him a permanent signing and he is now back at the club he joined as a 16-year-old.

But he can see no prospect of breaking through to the first-team squad — except for the occasional appearance in the Carling Cup, a competition which Wenger uses to give youth players and fringe players a run-out.

Unless his contract is cancelled, 23-year-old Aliadiere will have to wait for the transfer window in the New Year — and Aston Villa could be surprise contenders to sign him.
