Arsenal have taken Ghana World Cup star Shilla Illiasu on trial.
The 23-year-old featured in all four of The Black Stars’ games at the finals in Germany - starting the last three of them.
The central defender shone in Germany and his performances caught the attention of Arsene Wenger and his scouts.
Illiasu’s club Kumasi Asante Kotoko have confirmed that Illiasu is on his way to London to link-up with The Gunners.
Arsenal have excellent contacts in Africa and now they have agreed a deal with Kotoko - which sees Illiasu arriving for a trial spell.
The highly-rated stopper will get the chance over the next few days to try and convince Wenger that he is worthy of a move to The Premiership.
Reports from Africa suggest Kotoko would allow Illiasu to leave for around $1 million (£500,000).
Levante have finally completed the signing of Italian midfielder Damiano Tommasi.
The 32-year-old, who was a free agent having departed Roma earlier in the summer, has agreed a two-year deal with the newly-promoted outfit.
Levante initially claimed to have secured his services some two weeks ago, but the Italian stalled, claiming he wanted to consider his options before committing himself to the move. (more…)

Argentine Pablo Aimar has left Valencia to join Real Zaragoza for a fee of €11 million (£7.5 million). The player will sign a four year contract worth £1 million a year at the club. Aimar was once a huge favorite at the club where he won a European Super Cup two Liga titles, and a Uefa Cup. (more…)

Liverpool is after promising young Ugandan Savio Nsereko, the midfielder who was born in Uganda but also holds a German passport, started his career at German club 1860 Munich but moved to Italy last summer. The young 17 year old is highly regarded by his club in Italy and will not be allowed to leave easily.
